Title: RE: [ukha_d] Re: Meteor
Well here we go again, cut off twice so far!

Why do we as consumers have to put up with such crap service in this country!

Trouble is these companies are so big you never get to speak to anyone in power! and they wonder why people get frustrated by "the system" and take the law into their own hands.

B. still trying.....................

Not all CID units work with NTL so they say, my nice BT one doesn't and they reckon I am switched on, NTL say its not compatible and sent me a list of ones that are.
I want to use Meteor with NTL so will be interested on how you get on.
Best of luck with phoning NTL, hope your not in a hurry.

yes I think I am inclined to agree with you at this stage, I have been out for a while so I shall soon ring NTL and find out what is going on.

I asked my Brother In Law if he had a spare CID unit but he has not, suppose while I was out.......

Thanks,

B.

Brian,
The Meteor is not seeing any CID info, most likely 'cause your not getting CID on your line, have you got any other caller display device you can plug in?

I found all this when I first got my Meteor and bought a cheapy display from Argos (~£10) which works on all CID formats.

I found the Meteor worked very reliably, It was BT that wasn't always sending the info...

Aha, I'm getting somewhere! I have changed the baud to 1200 and now when I
dial out it displays on-line and then displays the numbers! but when I dial
in all that is displayed is off-line.

So half of it is working!

Any further ideas?

Going out soon to move a Macaw cage!! joys of having a van! so if I am slow
replying that is why.

Thanks guys,

B.
