I agree 100% - the best electronics bod I have ever known was a guy called
Martin Lord who was a friend of a friend whilst I was at university. He was
completely unable to work through an exam paper but put a soldering iron in
his hand and he could build anything. In the time I knew him he designed
and
built a valve amp for someone he knew who insisted that valves were the
only
way to achieve audiophile sound quality - and then built a solid state amp
which the guy preferred in a blind test! He designed and built an engine
management system for his Mk1 Escort, a 24bit video resolution graphics
card
when the best PC's could do was 256 colour VGA.

He got so p'd off with his dyslexia being a hurdle to his skills that he
went to live in Hungary where he's doing very well now...
