Thanks Steve, I had a look but those shown are nothing like mine, the items on the website are US versions?
Thanks anyway still an interesting site.

I have spoken to Ian B. on the phone and we are in agreement that I had cut the correct item (second time) but after I did the AP did not work again till I soldered the cut.

It also appears the wiring diagram I have been sent is for a US version?

Ian had thought about cutting the local control but we are not sure what use this would be in this situation.

Anybody else got any ideas? or shall I just remove the LED!

Thanks for your help Ian, good to talk to you again.

B.

If you have cut something with three leads then that is not the diode.

The layout of makes varies but they are generally simililar.

Well I have found the only item as you describe near a big blue rectangular thing and have cut it, now the LED is still on but cannot switch the AP on/off at all.

Am I missing something?

No. The diode only has 2 ends

Sorry to send this again but I cut one leg off and the whole thing stopped working! me thinks I cocked up!

The thing I cu one leg from had 3 legs, do not know what it is, I have soldered it ant all seems well but LED still on.

Any other suggestions anyone?

Hi Steve,
There are two blue round flat things one of which has VG7K or maybe VO7K written on it and has Fuse written on the PCB.
There is also a Blue(ish) box with OKAYA PA224 0.22yF  K written on it, I assume this is some sort of capacitor.

On the other end of the PCB there is another blue round flat thing with a white wire near it going to the coil.
There is a small black "D" shape item with 3 legs (similar in shape to the DS1820 temperature sensors) near with MCR 100-B written on it I cannot see a silver band on the end though.

Sorry but I am still not sure what item to cut, any suggestions?

Thanks again.

B.

Brian,

Usually there will be two capacitors, these are usually blue or orange. Next to the small one there will be a diode, this is a black component with a silver band at one end. Simply snip the lead at one end of the diode. Also likely to be near to the flying lead to the relay.

HTH

Steve.
