I know this thread started a wee while ago.....

I have both US & UK X10 motion detectors, the US one works fine through
a
plugin transformer. However when setting up the PIR in an outside pump shed
(corrugated iron), with the receiver in the house (total distance ~15m),
the
US one failed to work, whilst the UK works fine.
Has anyone noticed a difference in the range available between UK & US?
What is the max (claimed) distance for these things?

Russ

Guys

I may have a need to buy about 10 of these things. To get these in UK spec
would cost about £350, against £120 (+ shipping, + RF receiver) from the
States.
So my question is, is there anything stopping me from buying this kit from
the
States, and plugging the RF receiver into a transformer? I'm not sure
whether
the X10 signal will get through the transformer. Also (this is probably a
very
stupid question), could an existing UK RF Receiver be 'de-tuned' to the US
frequency?

Pete
