On HV you can send a command to set the lights to level 63 (from memory) that brings it on at 100% immediately.  I know you don't have HV but there must be some way for HS to do this surely?

Only that SWMBO does not like the feature! - she expects a light to just
come "on" when she operates the light switch, and not to just come on at 10%
brightness (or whatever I last had it set at the night before...) So I need
to set a recurring event up that resets the preset dim level to 100% every
night...
