I have the Gainward version of the same card and I have to admit the
performance is not what I would expect as well.

Yes I have experienced that syndrome too, it really is a bit of a pain
in the butt. I have also had repeated crashing opening Outlook when
there are other apps running.

Well I've got it on several machines, including an Athlon 1400, my main
machine, and that's the worst culprit! An Athlon 900 seems very happy
with it, no problems, an Athlon 800 is happy enough as a server and an
Athlon 700 runs like a dog! All these machines have >256MB ram and
decent drives/video cards, there is no obvious reasons for the huge
differences in performance.
Interestingly the main PC is fully SCSI 10,000rpm drives, fast CD/DVD
drives and a GIG of DDR memory and yet XP Pro still runs slow!!

I love the OS, just not the downsides :-(
