I suspect you'll have some problems:
a) you'll very probably run out of audio level from the
soundcard to drive passive speakers, soundcard amps are puny
b) If you use amplified speakers a long cable run may
pick up
noise and (more particularly) hum.
Though, if both the the sets of speakers are amplified,
and
you use stereo screened cable for the long run, it'll probably be
OK!
