The connector is for an IR sensor for remote control. Sadly, it doesn't
have light level sensing function as available with the K400. The IR data
stream is decoded by the K600 unit and there isn't much else one could do
with the connector.

In my opinion, using the buttons is the simplest way to interface with the
K600. The K600 control unit is held together by four 3-star shaped
security screws that are not the common security type. We did manage to
undo them somehow by using a standard cross-head screwdriver. The buttons
are connected directly to the microcontroller input pins and they can be
emulated by connecting dry contact relays to them.

We were developing a small PIC board that reads and decodes the X-10
commands from a TW523/TW7223 and activating the button lines accordingly.
We have the X-10 on/off (ie. open and close) part working and were working
on the status response and partial open/close functions when Swish stopped
the manufacturing of them. The project was shelved ever since.

There might be a new line of electric curtains available in the New Year.
The Autoglide range was rumoured to be purchased by another big (and much
more expensive) name in the electric curtain manufacturer.
