YES (before James Hoye says it).  I have 7 CAT5s into the kitchen but I didn't leave myself one high up in a cupboard (along with mains) where I would now like to put a DDAR MP3 player.

We've just started to use it again as it's been so mild up until now.  This is the first chance we've had to use Keith's interface.  I don't use X10 here, but HomeVisions IO ports.  You could of course trigger the heating with X10 though, or thru internal or external phone using Comfort, or IR/X10 with Pronto etc etc...

I will be writing up the heating thing soon but in the meantime here's a pic of the switched Keith made me.  He has embedded LEDs in the tips of these Clipsal push switches (although mains rated they are on low voltage circuit over CAT5 to HV).  One button for upstairs and one for downstairs.  Upstairs comes on for an hour while downstairs does two hours (underfloor is slow to respond).  This is great as now you can see at a glance what heating is on where (before I had to go out to the garage if I wanted a boost - now I have these buttons in Kitchen and master bedroom).  It's also more economical as the heating doesn't get left on anymore.  Programming your heating using HV is great too.  And you can do stuff like turn off heating when alarm is armed very easily.
