Mark,
I have installed a few of these and here is my
take,
They run off a 24V AC supply which you need to
provide, and they also need 24V AC relays to switch the heating/cooling/fan
on.
They have a RS232 interface also but the protocol is a little complicated.
Generally they are very reliable but there are some quirks on the setup of
them
(to do with number of changes per hour etc).
We buy ours from www.worthdist.com, and I just checked
and
they sell the RC80 for US$112.
Hope that helps, ask if you need any more
info.
Richard

Subject: [ukha_d] HAI RC-80 OmniStat
Thermostat?
Hi All
I am looking for a programmable thermostat for
use with homeseer. I know Letsautomate do the X-10 one for £264 but I was
wondering if any one had experience of a HAI RC-80 OmniStat
Thermostat ?
http://www.homecontrols.com/ are selling these for $140 . The only thing that is
confusing me is that the blurb says it is Compatible with systems using 24 volt (20 to 30 V) AC or DC
controls,
yet homecontrols website has a "230V ac available" sign next to them. I
have
e-mailed homecontrols but I was just wondering if anyone here knew anything
about them.
Thanks
Mark Hopley
