A late reply since I'm still waiting for IOMart to get my ADSL line
working....
You can get rons (Tefal) that turn themselves off if they haven't been
moved for ~5 mins. I highly recommend them, before I bought mine, I've
got home a few times to find I've left one on all day. It's not the sort
of thing I'd trust to any H/A system.
