Visonic have many distributors in the UK (and worldwide for that matter) If you call them on 01767 600857 they will let you know your local wholesaler.

Mine was purchased >from href="http://www.gardinersecurity.co.uk/">www.gardinersecurity.co.uk )

The PowerMax system like many burglar alarms can be monitored centrally, although the monitoring companies would normally insist on a 'professional' installation form an 'approved' installer.  So if you wanted say BT RedCare monitoring  (probably the best - but doesn't work with Home Highway) you would need to find an approved installer to put the alarm in. Some installers I spoke to were very funny about 'wireless alarms' - I got the impression that the cheap B&Q DIY alarms have done a lot of harm to the wireless industry.

From what I can gather from Scott's mails his company seems to offer a rather different service (please correct me if I am wrong) By offering automation, monitoring and intrusion alert as a single service (although using many different products) I guess many of us on this list have similar goals although we all go about it in different ways maybe Comfort + Home Vision + Phone Serial Port for example or  Visonic PowerMax+ Home Seer + Modem as well as a whole host of amazing technology that people are using.

Scott - what is the typical monthly monitoring cost ?? and what would be the rough cost to install say a 10 sensor system with 2 cameras ??? It would be interesting to see how your 'out of the box' solution compares to our mix 'n' match solutions.

Mark

Hi Scott

Does your company actually supply the Visonics stuff as well? I'm looking for an alarm system for my new house (being constructed as we speak)
