During the Homebase Response summer bonanza I purchased a whole bunch of
stuff including 2 wireless alarm kits and accessories. The reason that I
bought two was the hope that I could pull the second one apart and have it
interfaced with HomeSeer.
The plan was to use the peizo siren power input to trigger an X10 signal
using a powerflash module. It turns out that a powerflash needs 6-18V
whereas I get 3.3V when the alarm is activated. Another potential problem
that I can see is when the system is armed or disarmed (1 or 2 short beeps
on the same siren) I usually get a reading of <1V (could be because it
is
too quick to get a proper reading on my crappy multimeter?)
An alternative to using a powerflash would be to create contact closures
and
wire it up to my gameport -> HomeSeer interface but I would imagine that
involves relays and stuff which seems complicated.

Ultimately I want HS to go in to home/away mode just by the alarm being
armed/disarmed, and to call/SMS/email/take pictures etc if the alarm goes
off.

Does anyone know if a powerflash module can really work with <6V or have
any
other ideas?

Cheers,

Justin.
