For me the advantage is simple control and 'idiot guides' as I am not a
server expert at all. Also I use SQL server a lot in developing web
sites, so I would have installed that anyway. Finally I now have
exchange for email, this gives a few advantages over just using outlook,
for example server based rules and scheduled download of email from ISP
without the client computer being connected. I may also use exchange to
drag down local copies of frequently used newsgroups, but I haven't done
that yet.
