BNC will be for a second connection for another PC.

There will be a button marked something like  "BNC/D Sub" that
selects which
input to use although if only one input is active they usually autoswitch.

High end graphics cards have BNC outputs although you can get 15HD to 5 x
BNC leads.

The fact that you have BNC's indicated that you are using a male-male cable
at the moment rather than having a captive cable. In this case, dont buy an
extension lead but buy a Male-Male or Male-BNC lead of the right length eg
5m as this will give better results.
