I think I'm going to user Dallas 1820s on onewire for sensing, but thats
only
for information on the temperature in various rooms, I'm just about to
have central heating fitted and I'm going to go with an intelligent
controller

PS. we already use Dallas 1820s for sensing temperatures in our office here
at multithread
have a look at www.multithread.co.uk/temp.html we use a serial port
converter for the onewire net
to monitor 4 sensors (on a Linux box) - but we keep meaning to add more :-)
