I've read some of these OT posts and there's obviously a problem. Now, if
don't want to listen to the social ramble I'll create a filter. But in a
way
the ramble is part of the spirit of this group. If it creates bonds, helps
to get the group to meet up once or twice a year etc - then this is great.
I'd like to be a part of this.

BUT

How do I get my question answered? I posted a question about zoned heating
control. I know for sure that many of the 'inner circle' have pondered the
issue of HVAC integration. But no one so far has contributed to this
thread.
Lot's of chit chat about OT postings - but none about this genuine HA
issue.

So you'll excuse me if, as a newbie, I get the impression that there's a
great resource here, and a great group. But one which is bit too focused on
looking up it's own arse - rather than discussing challenging issues.

I'm not pissed about this or anything. I just feel it's probably not worth
subscribing to the list if the balance between Trivia, OT, and HA is not
redressed a bit.

Some may say 'Oh let him go. We don't want him anyway (especially if he
uses
rude words)'. But this is a shame - 'cos every subscriber lost is a voice
and source of knowledge lost. I am embarking on a very ambitious whole
house
HA project - and I'd love to share what I've learned with the group - and
what I will learn. But not if I have to wade through piles and piles of
nonsense. It's just about balance.

Chris
