Wasn't this mentioned quite a while back when the powers to be were
thinking
of using the power cables for web access till it transpired that the
contractors who were responsible for installing street lighting had saved
themselves some money by not fitting the required filters(?) into the lamp
posts therefore scuppering the whole idea.

There is an article on this somewhere but no way can I remember where.
