Second best thing I ever did was buy a projector, the first will remain a
mystery ;o)

Nah ....
we looked at going to the pictures in Leicester Sq when
we were down for the UKHA meet, but at £10 a head
it really wasn't worth it! Ticket prices have recently increased
in Glasgow to nearly £5 each, and by the time you have
bought the obligatory gallon of cola guaranteed to make
you get up half way through the film, and the popcorn that
is larger than your evening meal, you are far better off waiting
the six weeks or so and buying the Region 1 DVD, a chinese
meal, and a crate of beer!
I am sure the top-notch movie-houses may well be worth
it in comparison to other cinemas, but you just can't make
yourself as comfortable as you can on your sofa :)
Our next step really is to get a projector, we have the sound
set up that will do us till the lottery winnings come through,
and the TV is a nice, but now utterly quaint 33". We are agreed
that we now >need< a projector, but I have to convince Ian
that the bedroom should get the 33" TV, rather than getting
a 24" one, because 33" is "too big for the bedroom".
Bah!
:)
