Ian,

Some of these units are quite good, whether the noise level and performance
is okay is a personal preference thing.

Remember though that air-con is designed to lower the temperature by a few
degrees, not turn your house into a fridge!

Hi Guys

Homebase are doing a split air con unit half price at the moment. It is a
hang the rad and fan out of the window type. The original price was 599 and
it is now down to 299 and with 10% day today should drop another 30 quid.
In
light of the recent threads is this a good price? From what I read these
are
the better types to have? Specs say it should cool a two bed house although
I only really want it for the bedroom or lounge. Does anyone know if these
are too noisy to sleep with. The blurb also mentions heating, dehumidifying
etc.

Suggestions?

Ian
