RE: [PROJECT] Project core

Not a problem although I think Stuart set me up earlier today.

How do you feel about progressing this forward? I guess we need to start
talking in terms of functional requirement specs for the core software but
having never been heavily involved in a project like this I am not sure
about the best form of approach.

I think the best way forward is to ask the group for info about who would
like to work with the various technologies. The components I see that are
fairly essential at this time are:

Functional Specification

Review and design on embedded ethernet product

Further down the line we can then start to do the following:

Implement target embedded ethernet controllers

Design and build protocype console system

Start functional specs for the devices (whatever form they may take).

Unfortunately like with most things I guess we need to get the somewhat
boring bits done first which means we could end up spending some time
writing software which cannot control anything for quite a while.

Maybe those who are interested might want to respond with something like
this:

Name: bob
Skills: Unix,networking,perl,java,xml
prefered task: functional spec/console build

Thoughts?

Kieran
