Fujitsu's new disk is a 15,000 rpm model!!!!
"Fujitsu has announced the upcoming launch of its MAM3xxx series
3.5-inch
hard disk drives with a media transfer rate of 89 megabytes per second.
The drives spin at 50% higher revolutions per minute (RPMs) than Fujitsu's
existing drives.
Fujitsu will officially introduce the new drive in July. An 18.4GB drive
will be offered for 150,000 yen and a 37.4GB drive for 200,000 yen. The
new series will process data 5% faster than current speeds. Average data
seek times will also drop to 3.5 milliseconds from 4.5 milliseconds."
