IIRC, the maximum distance for a cable in a 1-wire network is 300m, though
obviously that would decrease with inferior cable (ie not CAT5) outside
interference etc, and soldering is the best way to attach the devices.
Remember multiple devices must go on the cable in paralell, not a star
config
like PC's.
