The IIS FTP server can authenticate off any domain (presuming you could see
it in the local logon screen, I suppose). Unlike the web service, however,
there is no 'default logon domain' option available in the configuration
page. There is a command to set it manually using one adsutil.vbs - I think
it's something like
cscript adsutil.vbs set msftpsvc/DefaultLogonDomain "domain_name"
(You'd have to be in the adminscripts folder). I've done this on W2K server
and it worked fine. Otherwise you can always just select the domain by
using
DOMAIN/Username.
Cheers,
Oliver.

Subject: WAY OT : FTP Server...
Guys (+ Gals)
Question for you - as we are all techy-orientated - I'm after an FTP
Server that will use an NT DOMAIN to authenticate users. IIS will only
authenticate against the LOCAL users/groups - and most others have their
own.
OR I can use LDAP - so if there is one that can use LDAP for a
name/password lookup ?
Thanks all !
