Dont get to carried away yet, I am only going to add a dual boot to one of
my 4 systems.
What I want to do is if I can control it from Linux then I should be able
to
write a windows programme to replace the dell one which comes with the unit
to provide much better control.

DDAR is great but from my point of view it has a few small shortcommings :-

1) You cannot control it from the server so HA type control is not possible
2) The track search used in the front end makes it imposible to use pronto
with every album listed, which is what I did before the DDAR arrived.
