Good point.

Maybe all problems, no matter how small, e.g just the failure of a lamp
module to turn off, should be logged and after a month or two the log
should
be studied to try to identify any potential recurring faults.

No system can ever be 100% reliable, but it should be 99.999% reliable if
possible.

I am now going to revisit my ideas on emergency lighting after the 75% of
Great Yarmouth was plunged into darkness at 21:20 on Saturday night.
Attempting to find my way downstairs was scarey to say the least.
Thankfully
the power was only off for about 20 minutes but it was long enough.

Power cuts are pretty rare here, unlike for Mark where a standby generator
is essential, but I will be putting in some form of low voltage battery
backed lighting.
