It was a sad sad day when I sold my BBC Master 128 ... how many PC's have
an
easily accessible digital IO port and an analogue input? It used to be a
breeze knocking up quick programs for pretty much anything you needed.

6502 assembly language programming was relaxation therapy...

I actually went on to program Archimedes and ARM processors using Millipede
Graphics video boards (one of the few truly broadcast standard boards out
there - can be hooked straight up to a broadcast studio *without* the
techies worrying about mismatches or such like) ...

Unfortunately PC's evolved quicker and soon overtook what we were doing but
I was running FMV bradcast quality video from hard disc ooooo ... maybe
nine
years ago using three paralleled up graphics boards each running 256
greyscales and each handling one of the RGB channels!
