I use HH which is connected to a Intel Express Router 8100, is got IP
filtering built in so you should be able to set up a reasonable firewall
without having a PC on all the time. I run W2K server with SQL server which
is on most of the time, but the benefit of a router is that if you come
home
with a laptop you can just plug it in and access the internet without
powering up separate machine.

The Intel unit is about £280

John

PS I still have problems with W2K causing the router to kick every 5
minutes
but fortunately I am on 24/7
