Yeah, pretty much totally! - Have you ever noticed in the small print of
the
drive specs there are figures quoted for "operating shock rating"
and
"non-operating shock rating", expressed in G...
Well I can't remember what typical figures are, but I do recall reading
some
time back, that an average figure for non-operating shock rating equates to
the bare drive being dropped from a height of 1 metre onto a solid concrete
floor! - and that's without any packaging or protection around it!

Seriously, in non-operating mode, where the heads are parked well away from
the data surfaces of the platters, they are really quite surprisingly
robust! - add the to that the 6-inch layer of foam that will packed all
round it during shipping,- I don't think you need worry!

I have received several drives through the post, and have never had a
single
problem...
