I seem to recall that my newer one also listens to outgoing calls, and
pcks up the DTMF. I would check, but I don't have an analogue line to
test it on any more. . .

The protocol coming back is pretty simple - I've got some C code to do
outgoing call logging to file if anyone is interested - runs under
Linux.
