In answer to that I reckon I could knock up something similar to Adam's setup in about 1 day or so ;)  It's not rocket science.  The web control side of things is something I'm intensely interested in.  As an Internet Application Architect and developer I have the skills to do some of this stuff.  I really would like to get into the hardware side of things more.  Not PC/Computer hardware but the custom designed stuff like Keith is up to.
