On a similar note/query, I've got a TM12U that's used for picking up the
signals
from 2 PIRs (MS13's?) from around the house. I bought a SS13 (RF wall
Switch)
last week to control various lights in the kitchen, but the TM12 seems to
miss
the majority of signals. Thinking it was a problem with the switch I dug
out
the ugly little X10 black remote, but that also exhibits similar problems
(though not as bad - presumably a stronger signal as it's using a 9v
battery?).
So, my question - why have I got some very distinct dead-zones in the
house?
It's nothing to do with distance - I can stand 2 ft from the TM12 and it
won't
pick up the signals from the switch, but from upstairs or the garage (ie
through
several brick walls) it works fine. Even positioning the TM12 in the
kitchen
didn't solve the problem.
Pete
PS I don't live under a pylon or mobile phone transmitter either!

Yup ... I have had very similar problems.
Firstly ... try plugging your X10 "source" (ie the TW7223 that HV
uses) into
a different socket. Just by moving mine one socket further along the ring
main (one socket away from the PC power supplies) my house has gone from
being half-blind to X10 to being fully X10 aware.
