Exactly.  The problem is that at 170 quid the DDAR reciever is probably cheaper than buying a "customisable wallmount LCD touchscreen".  Also with the DDAR you have the advantage of being able to play differnet track in different rooms.  With your solution you would be tied to one track all over the house.
 
If one track/zone is enough for you then a cheaper way would be to use one of the winamp plugins and use an IR remote.
