I just started saving excel spreadheets as html last week. I hadn't looked
at the html, since it looks fine in the browser. So, I just looked at the
html and it is fine. Only table, tr and td tags for the most part.
Nothing
extra that I can see. And, I have used Frontpage (but don't any more) and
know what you mean by all the extra stuff that gets put in the file. There
just insn't anything extra in mine.

I am using excel 97 and have an add-in called Internet Assistant Wizard
loaded. This gives a menu option called "Save As HTML" under the
File menu.
Is this how you are saving as html? Maybe you have a more complex excel
file? Or, maybe somehow the html save is using a Frontpage engine to do
the
work?
