I had the older one ... pre-cat ... went like stink. Only turned in 17mpg
average (23 at best) though and often hit single figures. Would hit the rev
lmiter in top. Got into a "run" with a Bentley Turbo R and a TVR
Griffith
along the M6 one time and it just got silly. The 200SX had the speedo
needle
buried off the end of the clock. Had one of the gearbox layshaft bearing
housings shatter at about 95 which locked up the back end solid! That was
replaced and we spent a very happy three years in all.

The later post-cat Mk 1 200's were slugs in comparison once they'd been
crippled with the cats!

I took a Mk 2 200 out and although undeniably quick it wasn't a patch on my
old one ... however I believe my old one was running 18psi boost whereas
the
standard was (IIRC) 7psi. Needless to say that my relationship with the
200SX was terminated when the turbo let go at 130,000 miles and fragments
of
compressor impeller blades ended up embedded in the cylinder linings.
