I am sure I have seen (Think it was in Home Automator) a very simple switching arrangement using HV as a controller to do multi zone audio, at had some switch able resisters to protect the amp as more speakers are switched on. It was a very basic arrangement.

Keith might remember I know he gets that mag, it could have been Circuit Cellar but i think it would be bit basic to get published in CC

Sound peeps!!

From PC Line Out to
1. Kitchen - which has its own powered speakers ( http://csw.creative.com/products/sw310/ ) attached to an appliance module.
2. Bathroom - which has its own powered speakers attached to an appliance module.
3. A N Other room....

If I want sound in each room I turn on/off the powered speaker system. Would this work?
