Hi
I'll mail you offline about the vent kit - I'll be v. interested - maybe
I'll ask Homebase to knock some more off the price as it's incomplete...
(!)
Thing is, I want to use this in the bedroom, upstairs. So unless the
external part of the split unit is made from pure helium gas, I've can't
mount it. And it will look ugly as sin.

Gareth
if at all possible get the split, only disadvantage is it is a little less
portable but it is MUCH better at cooling and there is no venting except
the
connection between the two untis which is much smaller than the 9000/7000
vent.
I had two 9000s one boxed at £238 one ex display at £150 (manager would
only
sell the display model once he had sold all warehouse stock so I bought
both). I took the boxed unit back (of course I never intended doing that
when I bought it LOL ;)
I then bought a split unit for 199 from a different branch. Apart from the
fact that I need the portability for one of the units I would have gone for
two of the split systems. Read my and Phil's earlier posts about the
cooling
capabilities.
BTW they have the vents in stock in Ruislip (4 of em), and they don't have
any of the 9000s or 7000s left in stock so I can't see what they need them
for. I have 1 spare vent kit if you need it, doesnt weigh much but it is a
big package so not sure what the postage would be.
