Mastic,

Two reasons for this, 1. It seals better and allows virtually no water
penetration and 2. If there is any vibration in the pipe this allows it
to move without getting chaffed.

One of the questions I also have concerns the permanent fitting of the
aircon...

When I make a hole in the wall to push the 'cable/connector' through,
can I
cement right up to the cable, or should I leave a gap around it & use
mastic
to 'seal' the join to the connector itself?

I guess the mastic option is probably better, since I could more easily
remove the cable if necessary.

Any thoughts?
