My Wife is quite good and actually likes the HA stuff

I got mine from RS. They have a starter kit which I think would do exactly what you want. Basically it is a reader which you press the iButton on. Sofware reads the ID then you can indicate who is who. The main reason why I have not implemented such a system is that my wife would not use. Bloody wives!!
