This is not the worry!

The worry is condensation in the ducting leading to the germination of
airborne bad things. Make sure you use solid, not flexible ducting and
that you can get to it to clean it out once a year. I do not know how
big a problem that this is in home systems but it can be a problem in
larger installs.

Then I'd say that you would probably do OK ducting the air into the next
room but don't duct it more than a couple of meters or the air friction
within the pipe will reduce the flow and hence the efficiency.

Sounds like it's performing like a split unit ...
