My main reasons for changing apart from the fact than British Gas prices
worked out cheaper than Eastern Electricity were...

1.
Eastern Electricity offered me 10% of my gas bill
I use < £6-00 worth of gas per month so about 60p off

British Gas offered me 10% off my electricity bill
I use about £40-00 worth of electricity so about £4-00 off

2.
Big bust up with Eastern Electricity after my timeclock stopped. I was
being
charged full daytime rate for everything. They adjusted the bill after they
fixed the timeclock but it was still in their favour.

I use between 30-40% of electricity at night. Dishwasher, Tumble Drier,
Washing Machine, Hot Water, Security Lighting etc. From my past bills
(about
6 years worth) they could see that I always hovered between 30-40% LOW
RATE.
Their final adjustment gave me a night-time usage of about 22%. I was less
than pleased.

I offered Eastern a chance to match the offer but they declined so I went.
