Hi, Has anyone ever used a wind turbine to power their server?

I assume you would use a bunch of batteries to run the Server with mains
backup and use the wind turbine to top up/charge the batteries?

Wind power is something I have always been interested in and know nothing
about, no change there then.

I have received the latest edition of the mail order catalogue from CAT,
Centre for Alternative Technology, in Wales and they are advertising a
Rutland 913 which is has a 90w at 22mph output. it says to specify 12 or 24
volt when ordering. Assuming I have enough wind (weather wise!) would it
work? they also have "Shunt Regulators" to stop overcharging, not
that I
think that will be a problem where I live.

OK here comes the science bit from you intelligent types...........

Thanks,

B.
