What exactly do you wish to know about retina response - do you mean
the light level at the retina (optical transfer function), or how the
retina interprets light at a neural level before all the stimuli are
assimilated prior to reaching the visual cortex.
There are many models of 'schematic' eyes that try to simplify the
incredibly complex human eye, however these are more usually used for
calculating retinal image size at the fovea and do not take into
account the many abberations that may be involved, such as large
pupils in the dark that cause spherical abberation and 'coma'. These
can also be calculated but the equations are pretty mad!!

I think I missed the earlier discussion and aren't sure exactly what
you are after
