Maybe a silly question, but are you guys getting building approval for
these changes? Because of fire regulations there is a lot of detail
that has to be observed, and builders tend to ignore these things.
Then you have nasty problems when you come to sell.
We looked at a loft conversion, but the requirement for an enclosed
staircase with fire doors, and the need to have closing mechanisms on
every other door in the house, put us off the idea.
