Yup ... That's what I wanted to do too.

My LD player and DVD player were both S-Video capable, my VCR wasn't so I
just bought a second hand S-VHS VCR ... with a projector it's well worth it
as the improvement from VHS to S-VHS is extremely marked. I recorded
"Around
the world in 80 raves" on Friday on S-VHS stock and the quality is
what I
consider quite reasonable. (I regard myself as being a fussy old git when
it
comes to Audio and Video quality.) If you're using a projector and
expecting
to put the VCR through it then spending a few hundred on an S-VHS VCR
should
be a no brainer.
