I use an RGB to S converter for my Plasma. www.rgbtosvideo.com Great
product, great service. He does two versions one PAL only and one NTSC and
PAL. I'm about to send my converter off for a mod so that it passes through
the widescreen switching signal to a DC offset on the Chrominance pin.
According to Panasonic all of their current range respond to this signal.
Although it is part of the Svideo standard, few manufacturers appear to
have
adopted it. According to John Sim, his converter uses a superior design to
the Keene box - no right angles in the PCB, and quality components
throughout. I'm very pleased with it.

The cost of the mod? 20 quid including return postage!

I also have a passive composite to s converter from Keene for my VCR. While
it converts the format, it still has poor the quality of composite, as Phil
said not a problem with standard VHS.

If it is for use with your projector Mark you will notice a slight
degradation when going from RGB to S, and a huge degradation when going to
composite.

Tim.
