I'm not sure if we're talking sky or on-digital here but...

I've got a Panasonic on-digital box. It allows scroll-ahead of
channel selection - the banners change quickly as you scroll through
the channels, but the underlying video doesn't change until you pause
to let it catch up. With the exception of the on-request channels,
which seem to confuse it from time to time.
