You can make a 2+1 box yourself quite easily - get a piece of aluminium
plate (so it won't rust) and rivet a 2G and 1G box onto it spaced apart so
that when the faceplates are fitted they neatly line up and touch. Then
bury the plate & boxes into the wall and make good.
Of course, you don't have to rivet the boxes onto a backing plate, but it
makes lining them up and getting the correct spacing a whole lot easier :)

You can always mount a dual box (see earlier link to files area) in a
'portrait' orientation. The one shown has 4 fixing lugs to use depending
on
the mounting orientation. The pair not used can always be removed, and
there is a removable dividing plate between the two compartments (to give
physical isolation if installing mains in one side and LV (phone, CAT5, RF)
in the other. Only concern is box depth - I've only seen these ones in
35mm - they're quite hard to find - the sheds don't stock them, and
Screwfix
(after some prompting) only started fairly recently.
