I used a PIR in the bathroom to bring on the lights, then this started a
timer that lasted about a minute. There was a contact switch on the door
when this was closed it halted the timer, when it went open again the timer
restarted and counted down switching off the lights and then later the
extractor. Then you have a bathroom with no wall switch, all you do is walk
in and the lights operate - blame Mike Huggins he kinda put this idea in my
head as an extension to the lights on when you enter a room idea.
The downside is that the bathroom door really has to be left ajar when not
in use and you have to wait until it resets before the next body enters.
This is one reason why I really want a couple of BIK sensors as this gets
rid of those problem totally.
It does do several really useful things though, like, you do not leave the
lights on by mistake, if you use mains halogen or incandescent you can dim
the lights at night and no fumbling for the switch or missing the bowl at
night, well you don't have the excuse that you couldn't see anyway!
The really, really cool thing is though - it confuses the hell out of
guests, makes them realise that the home is on auto-pilot and, after a few
drinks, provides great entertainment value to you watching them go to the
loo and try to figure out how to put the lights on ;o)

Thanks for the reply. I do not use HV. I rely on a PC for the central
controller and have yet to see a real need or great benefit to add
Homevision into the system, especially at the price it is.
Out of interest though, what is the cool HV way of of doing bathroom
lighting?
Mark.
