What you have in this list is a collection of people who share a common
interest in home automation. From my experience, this is a fairly rare
thing.
Within our friends, and work collegues, there are one or two who think
that maybe the curtains would be cool, but really are overkill. And thats
it. None of the rest of our HA stuff is interesting, just weird.
This is probably why it has evolved into a community, rather than
as rigid as other lists, because here there are others like us, I may not
be able to keep up with all the electronics as I am a developer by trade,
and haven't done any soldering since the breif robotics class way back
in school, but I am picking it up as I go, and hopefully, soon may be able
to contribute in an "on topic" post, for a change :)
